El propósito de este artículo es comprender las pericias forenses y las sentencias en los procesos criminales de sodomía en Chile desde 1875 hasta 1928. Se describirá las funciones de los médicos y los jueces en torno a la pericia médica y la sentencia. Además se analizará la correlación que surge entre la cantidad de las sentencias impartidas por los jueces del crimen y las pericias médicas realizadas por los médicos a las partes involucradas (acusadores y acusados) en los procesos criminales de sodomía.

The purpose of this article is to understand the forensic examinations and the sentences in the criminal trials of sodomy in Chile from 1875 to 1928. The functions of the doctors and the judges regarding the medical examination and the sentence will be described. In addition, the correlation that arises between the number of sentences handed down by the judges of the crime and the medical expertise carried out by the doctors to the parties involved (accusers and defendants) in the criminal processes of sodomy will be analyzed.
