El documento tiene como objetivo abordar dos interrogantes:(i) ¿Cuál ha sido la contribución del Tribunal de Justicia de laComunidad Andina (TJCA) en el ámbito de la protección delos derechos humanos? y (ii) ¿Ha seguido el TJCA el mismocurso trazado por el Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea(TJUE)? Con el propósito de responder a dichas preguntas, elartículo describe la jurisprudencia del TJCA en relación conlos derechos humanos, para luego proceder a una comparacióncon el desarrollo en Europa.

The document aims to address two inquiries: (i) What has beenthe contribution of the Andean Community Court of Justice(ACCJ) in the field of human rights protection? and (ii) Hasthe ACCJ followed the same course charted by the Court ofJustice of the European Union (CJEU)? In order to answerthese questions, the article describes the jurisprudence of theACCJ regarding human rights, and subsequently proceeds tocompare it with developments in Europe.
