El presente artículo aborda la relación que posee el Tribunalde Justicia de la Comunidad Andina con el TribunalPermanente de Revisión del Mercosur. Ambas institucionesson tribunales regionales que a pesar de pertenecer a distintosprocesos de integración y haber desarrollado diferentesfunciones en el marco de sus competencias han realizadoesfuerzos en generar lazos de cooperación. Estos lazos hanfortalecido el conocimiento mutuo y sus respectivos procesosde integración regional en un continente en el cual la unión denaciones se vuelve necesaria para afrontar los desafíos a losque América Latina se enfrenta permanentemente.
This article reviews the relations between the PermanentReview Court of Mercosur and the Court of Justice of theAndean Community. Both institutions are regional tribunalsthat act within a transnational integration process.Nevertheless, the Mercosur and the Andean Courts have haddifferent experiences while developing their competencies.This situation has not prevented cooperation between thesetwo regional courts, a situation that has contributed to theirrespective integration processes in a region in which unionbetween nations becomes necessary to confront challenges towhich Latin America is permanently subject.
