A partir de los mecanismos de defensa, el autor plantea la posibilidad de concebirlos como mecanismos comunicativos entre las personas: a través de ellos informamos a quienes están a nuestro alrededor de los niveles de ansiedad que se nos activan a partir de un hecho o una idea o emoción. Al hacerlo, unos y otros quedamos conectados. Es a través de estas informaciones, las más de las veces inconscientes o involuntarias, como los establecemos los lazos de interdependencia con los demás. Precisamente es a través de estos vínculos cómo podemos concebirnos entrelazados los unos a los otros abandonando la posición de homo clausus para ser homines aperti. Si esta es nuestra realidad, las intervenciones psicoterapéuticas involucran a sus actores convirtiendo el trabajo en un proceso de coconstrucción constante de significados.

Based on the defense mechanisms, the author raises the possibility of conceiving them as communicative mechanisms between people: through them we inform those around us of the levels of anxiety that are activated by a fact or an idea or emotion. By doing so, we are connected to each other. It is through this information, most of the time unconscious or involuntary, that we establish the bonds of interdependence with others. It is precisely through these links that we can conceive of ourselves intertwined with each other, abandoning the position of homo clausus to be homines aperti. If this is our reality, psychotherapeutic interventions involve their actors, turning the work into a process of constant co-construction of meanings.
