    El reinado de Pedro I supuso la culminación de la fiebre constructiva iniciada por Ramiro I y Sancho Ramírez materializando la nueva doctrina religiosa en la escultura de los nuevos templos. La catedral de Jaca o San Pedro de Loarre se poblaron de imágenes fundamentalmente veterotestamentarias, pero también de carácter profano, siguiendo el internacional estilo del románico pleno para reflejar la nueva doctrina cristiana traída de Roma y, a su vez, la actualidad política del momento. Para ello, el arte clásico grecorromano jugó un papel fundamental para reflejar este nuevo status quo y para la configuración del nuevo estilo. La estandarización del estilo queda patente en la repetición de programas iconográficos y composiciones por distintas edificaciones religiosas del reino de Aragón y del territorio leonés. Así pues, centrándonos en la labor del Maestro de Jaca especialmente, los ejemplos de Jaca y Loarre se erigen como dos casos paradigmáticos que actuaron como foco de irradiación de este arte y que conectaron con otros talleres escultóricos, no solo de la península, sino también del resto de Europa

    Pedro I’s reign implied the culmination point of the constructive fever started by the kings Ramiro I and Sancho Ramírez, materializing the new religious canon in the sculpture of the temples. The cathedral of Jaca or Saint Peter of Loarre began to have images, essentially from the Old Testament, but also with secular characteristics, following the Romanesque international style to reflect the new Christian doctrine that was brought from Rome and, in addition, the politics of its time. To accomplish it, the classic Greco-Roman style played an essential role to show this new status quo and to shape the new style. The standardization of the style is visible in the repetition of iconographic programs and compositions in different religious buildings not only from the kingdom of Aragon, but also from the Leonese territory. Therefore, focusing specially on the work of the Master of Jaca, the examples from this city and Loarre come to be two paradigmatic cases that acted as a focal point of this art and they connected with other sculpture workshops, not only from the peninsula but also from the rest of Europe.
