    El culto de las reliquias ha sido uno de los elementos más característicos y llamativos del cristianismo desde sus orígenes pero fue durante la Edad Media cuando se popularizó entre todas las capas sociales. Es en estos momentos donde la posesión de una reliquia se convirtió en un aspecto importante para la sociedad, y no solo desde el punto de vista devocional, sino también político y económico.

    The cult of relics has been one of the most particular and striking elements of Christianity since its origins, but it was during the Middle Ages when it became popular among all the population. It is the moment when the possession of a relic became an important aspect for society, and not only from a devotional point of view, but also from a political and economic one.

    Its meaning, background, the first martyrdom relics of the Christian church, the pilgrimages or the miracles are some of the aspects that have transformed the society at that time.
