The contemporary time that urges in favor of the future brings a kind of present mark, indicating the desecration ofpast times in favor of the valorization of the moment, the ephemeral. Contradictory, however, the same contemporarytime exposes us to the possibility of a greater storage of information through technologies that establish new“places of memory”(Nora, 1984). In this scenery, in which memory and forgetfulness build the architecture of thecontemporary time, it is required to take into consideration the uses of audiovisual devices, as well as its newpossibilities of production. There is a desire of not losing anything but of keeping it all caused by the development of the new technologies ofinformation and communication, mainly the internet, which opened the possibility of total storage. In this perspective, the spaces of remembrances are multiplied, although they are incomplete, creating new possibilities in the audiovisualproduction from the present time, whether in videos, films or documentaries. The present paper is part of an investigation about the uses of the past in the constitution of the audiovisual narrative, inthe context of the new possibilities of production brought by the new technologies of communication and information. We live today in a “screen world” where the audiovisual representation is responsible for a great part in the constitutionof the everyday life. Therefore, it is necessary to think the use of the past as ways of rereading and rescuing thetime and memory.
