Resumen de Expanding the oeuvre of the master metalsmith Orazio Fortezza
An especially fine brass display plate in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, is identified here for the first time as a work by the master metalsmith and engraver Orazio Fortezza and a commission for the Venetian Foscari family. Fortezza was from Dalmatia, which formed part of the Venetian empire, and the objects that he created are characterised by a richly engraved vocabulary of ornament and narrtives inspired by ancient precedents
