Resumen de Cuerpo y santidad medieval: la corporalidad femenina en "Leyenda dorada"

Este artículo se propone indagar sobre la representación de la santidad femenina en Leyenda dorada, de Santiago de la Vorágine, en relación con el cuerpo y sus atributos. Lejos de ser un componente secundario o degradado con respecto a la noción de alma, la corporalidad en general, y la femenina en particular, se configura como lugar de resistencia religioso y, simultáneamente, como aquello que permite la trascendencia en términos espirituales. De esta forma, la centralidad del cuerpo conduce a un tratamiento privilegiado sobre la materialidad y habilita una serie de protecciones destinados a su preservación. Aquí, este mecanismo múltiple y de naturaleza diversa será llamado recubrimiento.

This article aims to investigate the representation of female sanctity in The Golden Legend, by Jacobus of Voragine, in relation to the body and its attributes. Far from being a secondary or degraded component in opposition with the soul, corporeality in general, and the feminine in particular, it is configured as a place of religious resistanceand, simultaneously, as the element which allows transcendence in spiritual terms. In this way, the centrality of the body leads to a privileged treatment of materiality and enables a series of protections aimed at its preservation. Here, this multiple and diverse mechanism will be called covering.
