Resumen de Bem-estar animal nas cidades: uma revisão sistemática de literatura

  This study aims to analyze animal welfare in cities from a systematic literature review perspective. The theme, which is multidisciplinary, multilevel, and multidimensional, is complex and aligned to the field regarding animal welfare politics in cities; the latter strongly depends on formal and unformal networks comprised of organizations that provide services for animal welfare. This systematic review followed the PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews. The scientific literature shows that keywords are scattered, which indicates that even in contrary terms, there is no agreement in one definition. In general, animal welfare is seen as something that becomes even more complex within the enlargement of urbanization areas, as it consists of several factors that allow animals to have a quality of life, full development, and a healthy life. These factors were explored in this study. The article contributes to the theoretical literature and practice, as it explores elements linked to animal welfare in cities, involving multiple levels of analysis possibilities that together indicate the heterogeneity of visions, pluralities of actors involved in this matter, as well as the multiplicity of knowledge involving the thematic related to urban spaces.

  Este artigo tem como objetivo central analisar o bem-estar animal nas cidades a partir de uma revisão sistemática de literatura. O tema, de caráter multidisciplinar, multinível e multidimensional, é complexo e se alinha também ao campo da política de bem-estar animal nas cidades, o que depende fortemente de redes formais e informais de organizações que prestam serviços direcionados a esta causa. A revisão sistemática seguiu as diretrizes contidas na declaração PRISMA. A literatura apresenta uma dispersão de palavras-chave mostrando que, mesmo os termos contrários, não expressam uma definição única. Em linhas gerais, o bemestar animal é visto como algo que se complexifica com o aumento do processo de urbanização, consistindo em uma série de fatores que permitem aos animais terem qualidade de vida, desenvolvimento pleno e uma vida saudável. Tais fatores são explorados ao longo do texto. O artigo contribui tanto para a literatura quanto para a prática, ao explorar elementos que se ligam ao tema do bem-estar animal nas cidades envolvendo os múltiplos níveis de análise possíveis que, juntos, mostram a heterogeneidade de visões, a pluralidade de atores envolvidos, bem como a multiplicidade de conhecimentos que envolvem a temática nos espaços urbanos.
