    El objetivo de la investigación ha sido, en primer lugar, el reconocimiento de la importancia del medio como garante de la calidad de vida para la gente mayor. En segundo lugar, también ha evidenciado cómo el rico legado espacial vivido puede ser fuente de ansiedad y frustración en la gente mayor cuando debe adecuarse a un proceso de limitaciones físicas y psíquicas crecientes, en detrimento de la calidad de vida. Finalmente se ha verificado como la lección del manejo del espacio vivido por la gente mayor, aporta una nueva perspectiva sobre el espacio de forma más integrada.

    The objective of the research has been, firstly, the recognition of the importance of the environment as a guarantor of quality of life for the elderly. Secondly, it has also shown how the rich spatial legacy lived can be a source of anxiety and frustration in the elderly when they have to adapt to a process of increasing physical and psychological limitations, to the detriment of the quality of life. Finally, it has been verified how the lesson of the management of the space lived by the elderly brings a new perspective on space in a more integrated way.
