  This paper discusses the biblical text of Lev 18, 1.5.22, focusing on its analysis and re-reading in face of homophobic religious discourses. Justifying himself by the many hate speeches against the LGBTQIAP+ community in the religious sphere, which, through an erroneous and sometimes biased interpretation of some biblical texts spread violence against this community. The purpose of this study is to reread Leviticus 18, 1.5.22, exegetical, and social basis, in order to counteract the homophobic religious discourses. The result obtained by the research is to present a new look at ancient texts and affirm that they should not be read with the purpose of excluding men and women who live guidelines different from those regulated by the religious discourse

  Este trabalho aborda o texto bíblico de Lv 18, 1.5.22 voltando-se à sua análise e releitura frente aos discursos religiosos homofóbicos contemporâneos. Justificando-se através dos muitos discursos de ódio contra a comunidade LGBTQIAP+ no âmbito religioso que, por meio de uma interpretação considerada errônea e, algumas vezes tendenciosa, difundem a violência à essa comunidade. O propósito deste estudo é realizar uma releitura de Lv 18, 1.5.22, de cunho exegético e social, a fim de contrapor os discursos religiosos homofóbicos. Resultado obtido pela pesquisa é o de apresentar um novo olhar sobre textos antigos e afirmar que eles não devem ser lidos com o propósito de excluir homens e mulheres que vivem orientações distintas daquelas regulamentadas pelo discurso religioso
