Lateral thinking is the ideal way to achieve creativity within the student mentality; but to do so, it is essential to look at this challenge from another perspective. Reasoning skills are not only available thanks to advances in educational technology and rather, the solution to this dilemma must be based on the digital age; just like in the Knowledge Society. Therefore, this is how unconventional thinking will emerge as a social approach capable of allowing the independence of the Sciences and it is in this case that challenges, of Higher Education, will germinate by proposing permanent learning environments. Making every student work, collaboratively, in obtaining knowledge of the Exact Sciences and exemplifying with online courses that promote learning spaces; as long as intelligent software is the tool to interact.

Horizontal thinking is a way to achieve thoughtful and methodical creativity. For this reason, it is important to look at the challenges from different perspectives; since the development of educational technology relies on reasoning skills. Therefore, the solutions to the problems raised are based on imagination as an analogy between the Knowledge Society and the digital age. Thus, determined in this way, the creation of unconventional thinking techniques emerges as a social method that does not accept the independence of science; nor its development within the World Wide Web. It is at this moment, when the challenges of academic sciences arise and offer a learning environment consistent with the collaborative work of university students in the area of Exact Sciences; case of Mathematics and the practical case of an online course in the area of Numerical Analysis.
