Relaciones Limítrofes: el cuerpo en la Colonia Chilena a través de las crónicas de la época

    En este artículo nos planteamos investigar cómo se entendía el cuerpo en la época colonial chilena a través de los relatos de Cautiverio Feliz (1673), como fuente principal, y de Historia General de Reino de Chile, Flandes indiano (1674) e Histórica relación del Reyno de Chile (1646), como fuentes secundarias. A través de un análisis de discurso a estas importantes crónicas de la época, interpelamos socio-históricamente al cuerpo como factor relevante para entender, más allá del relato histórico, el rol que el cuerpo jugó en las relaciones sociales de un Chile que recién comenzaba. Esto en correspondencia con la relevancia simbólica del cuerpo como realidad límite. Límite entre lo micro y lo macro, lo cultural y lo natural, entre el sujeto y el objeto, entre la razón y la emoción, entre lo humano y lo animal, entre el nosotros y ellos. Discutimos que en estas crónicas es posible distinguir seis cuerpos que aparecen con marcada frecuencia (o con importancia simbólica).

    In this article, we propose to study how the body in Chile was understood in colonial times through the stories of Cautiverio Feliz (1673) as the primary source, and Historia General de Reino de Chile, Flandes indiano (1674) and Histórica relación del Reyno de Chile (1646), as secondary sources. Through a discourse analysis of these important chronicles of the time, we seek to give a socio-historical interpretation of the body as a relevant factor to understand, beyond the historical account, the body's role in the social relations of Chile that was beginning. This concerns the symbolic relevance of the body as a limit reality. A boundary between the micro and the macro, the cultural and the natural, between the subject and the object, between reason and emotion, between the human and the animal, between us and them. We discuss that in these chronicles, it is possible to distinguish six bodies that appear frequently (or with symbolic importance).
