    La isoinmunización anti-RhD es un problema que se desencadena por la destrucción de los glóbulos rojos del recién nacido o del feto por los anticuerpos maternos IgG. Estos anticuerpos se generan cuando acceden eritrocitos fetales al sistema circulatorio materno y su sistema inmune detecta un antígeno que no está en la madre. Su prevención es de vital importancia para evitar las consecuencias en el recién nacido, así como su detección cuando no ha sido posible prevenirlo. Se debe tener en cuenta la gravedad de la repercusión fetal para actuar en consecuencia de la manera mas temprana posible con el fin de evitar complicaciones que podrían ser mortales para el feto.

    RhD alloimmunization is a problem triggered by the destruction of the newborn’s or fetus’s red blood cells by maternal IgG antibodies. These antibodies are produced when fetal red blood cells enter the maternal circulation, and her immune system detects an antigen that is not present in the mother. Prevention of RhD alloimmunization is crucial to avoid consequences in the newborn, as well as detecting it when prevention has not been possible. The severity of fetal impact must be taken into account to act accordingly as early as possible to prevent complications that could be fatal for the fetus.
