Aprender participando: Cruzamento de diferentes espaços para uma educação sociocultural

    Este trabalho apresenta uma experiência prática demonstrativa da importância da promoção de uma educação que abranja diferentes espaços da comunidade, não se cingindo somente às instituições escolares e às formas mais tradicionais de ensino. Dito de outro modo, defende-se neste trabalho a ideia de que à escola cabe não só promover aprendizagens e saberes académicos, como também desenvolver nos estudantes competências e habilidades cognitivas, metacognitivas, sociais e emocionais necessárias ao exercício de uma cidadania consciente e mais centrada na dignidade humana. Neste desiderato, revela-se de crucial importância a promoção da participação ativa dos estudantes e o seu envolvimento nos diferentes contextos socioculturais em que estão inseridos. Face ao exposto, cabe às Instituições de Ensino Superior promover metodologias ativas de ensinoaprendizagem que permitam aos estudantes ser mais autónomos, criativos, comunicativos, cooperativos e construtores de relações humanas, quer nos contextos profissionais, quer pessoais.

    Tendo estes determinantes como pressuposto, desenvolveu-se uma experiência pedagógica com os estudantes do Curso Técnico Superior Profissional em Intervenção Sociocultural e Desportiva, da Escola Superior de Educação e Ciências Sociais do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (Portugal). Esta experiência consistiu na realização de um conjunto de iniciativas integradas no projeto “Intervir.

    Humanizar. Contagiar”, que decorre da parceria com a Comissão de Humanização do Hospital de Leiria. As atividades, antecipadamente planificadas, alicerçaram-se em metodologias ativas de ensinoaprendizagem e tiveram como principais objetivos fomentar relações mais humanizadas entre os envolvidos e contribuir para a formação de profissionais capazes de fomentar a integração social, o desenvolvimento cultural e a adoção de estilos de vida saudáveis. A realização de atividades práticas desenvolvidas em espaços de educação sociocultural que, neste caso concreto, se centraram em instituições hospitalares, revelaram ser experiências profícuas na promoção de uma panóplia de aprendizagens significativas, tanto a nível técnico e profissional, como a nível pessoal e social, que de outro modo não poderiam adquirir.

    This paper presents a practical experience that demonstrates the importance of promoting education that encompasses different areas of the community, not just school institutions and more traditional forms of teaching. In other words, this work defends the idea that it is the school's job not only to promote academic learning and knowledge, but also to develop the cognitive, metacognitive, social and emotional skills and abilities necessary for students to exercise conscious citizenship, with a greater focus on human dignity. In this regard, it is crucial to promote the active participation of students and their involvement in the different socio-cultural contexts in which they live. In view of the above, it is up to higher education institutions to promote active teaching-learning methodologies that enable students to be more autonomous, creative, communicative, cooperative and build human relationships, both in professional and personal contexts. With these determinants as a starting point, a pedagogical experiment was developed with students on the Higher Professional Technical Course in Sociocultural and Sports Intervention at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Portugal). This experience consisted of carrying out a series of initiatives as part of the “Intervene. Humanize. Contagiar” project, which is the result of a partnership with the Leiria Hospital Humanization Commission. The activities, planned in advance, were based on active teaching and learning methodologies and their main objectives were to foster more humanized relationships between those involved and to contribute to the training of professionals capable of fostering social integration, cultural development and the adoption of healthy lifestyles.

    Practical activities developed in sociocultural education spaces, which in this specific case were centered on hospital institutions, proved to be fruitful experiences in promoting a wide range of significant learning, both at a technical and professional level, as well as at a personal and social level, which they would otherwise not have been able to acquire.
