    Precedida por una reforma constitucional, motivada en parte por la nueva versión del tratado de libre comercio para la región norteamericana, la reforma laboral de 2019 ofrece un marco jurídico más favorable para la libertad de asociación y la negociación colectiva. Sin embargo, como también lo han señalado otros(as) autores(as), no basta con modificar el marco regulatorio formal para generar un cambio. ¿Está transformándose el sistema mexicano de relaciones industriales? En este artículo se hace una valoración de estos cambios usando el concepto de sistema de relaciones industriales de Dunlop como dispositivo heurístico y tomando a la industria automotriz como referente empírico. A partir de este análisis se identifican los principales desafíos para lograr una más honda transformación de las relaciones laborales en México

    Preceded by a constitutional reform primarily motivated by the new version of the free trade agreement for the North American region, the 2019 labor reform offers a more favorable legal framework for freedom of association and collective bargaining. However, as other authors have also stated, it is not enough to modify the formal regulatory framework in order to bring about change. Is the Mexican industrial relations system undergoing a transformation? This article assesses these changes using Dunlop’s concept of the industrial relations system as a heuristic device and taking the automotive industry as an empirical reference. This analysis identifies the main challenges to achieving a more profound transformation of labor relations in Mexico
