Resumen de Organización Continental Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Estudiantes, 55 años en representación del movimiento estudiantil latinoamericano

  Introducción: la Organización Continental Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Estudiantes desde su fundación, lucha en defensa de la autonomía universitaria, la libertad, la pluralidad de la academia y la enseñanza pública. Promueve y desarrolla la solidaridad efectiva de los estudiantes en su lucha contra el imperialismo.

  Objetivo: describir el papel de la Organización Continental Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Estudiantes en representación de los movimientos estudiantiles latinoamericanos.

  Método: se realizó una búsqueda de información entre octubre de 2020 y febrero de 2021; se consultaron artículos disponibles Scopus, SciELO y Redalyc. Se encontraron alrededor de 63 elementos de los cuales 27 cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión de la investigación.

  Desarrollo: fundada en el IV congreso latinoamericano de asociaciones estudiatiles, el 11 de agosto de 1966 en La Habana, contando con la Federación Estudiantil Universitaria de Cuba como presidenta hasta la actualidad. Los Congresos Latinoamericanos y Caribeños de Estudiantes se continuaron realizando en los 70, 80 y 90 discutiendo los lineamientos de trabajo de la organización para los próximos períodos, acordando acciones de solidaridad con pueblos oprimidos por el imperialismo y en procesos de luchas por la liberación nacional, así como reafirmando los principios fundacionales de la OCLAE.

  Conclusiones: la Organización Continental Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Estudiantes constituye una de las organizaciones latinoamericanas que abogan por la integración de la región, defender y luchar por las conquistas sociales y el acceso gratuito e igualitario para todos los estudiantes.

  Introduction: the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Organization of Students since its foundation, fights in defense of university autonomy, freedom, plurality of the academy and public education. It promotes and develops the effective solidarity of students in their struggle against imperialism.

  Objective: to describe the role of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Organization of Students in representation of Latin American student movements.

  Method: a search for information was carried out between October 2020 and February 2021; available articles were reviewed on Scopus, SciELO and Redalyc databases. About 63 items were found, of which 27 met the inclusion criteria of the research.

  Development: founded in the IV Latin American Congress of Student Associations, on August 11, 1966 in Havana, with the University Student Federation of Cuba as president until today. The Latin American and Caribbean Student Congresses continued to be held in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, discussing the organization’s guidelines of work for the next periods, agreeing on actions of solidarity with peoples oppressed by imperialism and in processes of struggles for national emancipation, Conclusions: as well as reaffirming the founding principles of OCLAE.

  Conclusions: the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Organization of Students is one of the Latin American organizations that advocate the integration of the region, defend and fight for social gains, free and equal access for all students.
