  Discussions on the relationship between environment and economy has been growing based on the fear of negative influences on natural resources entrepreneur look. This link directs the timber sector, considering that the economic market of this extractive activity binds directly to illegal deforestation in the Amazon. The municipality of Paragominas-PA grew up having your economy model based extraction activities which did not have proper management of environmental resources that resulted in economic growth associated with the degradation of the environment and the social problems from such attitudes. In this way, the consequences of the uncontrolled deforestation were of great impact in the availability of raw material and in the economy of the municipality, as well as put it on the blacklist of the Ministry of environment (MMA) which featured the most desmatavam Amazon. From the year of 2008, when he received the operation arc of Paragominas fire of MMA, which brought drastic actions the illegal economic activities, closing them, seizing and fining the timbers, sought sustainable alternatives combining the production to the proper use of its environmental resources with the help of partners, monitoring and application of environmentally correct management techniques, achieving the success of the actions with the output from the blacklist of deforestation and the title of first Green Municipality of the State of Pará. On this basis, this paper will present the features that the city used to develop this new sustainable economic dynamics from the Operation arc of fire and study economic relations with deforestation in Paragominas, through the econometric model of correlation and regression using the software Bioestat. This study will take into account the explanatory variables, deforestation; recipe; residential electricity consumption; and in 2004 to 2014 period, so that if establish results that determine and show the influence of economic activities, now in a sustainable way in the economy of the municipality.

  As discussões sobre a relação existente entre meio ambiente e economia tem sido crescente baseada ao receio das influências negativas do olhar empreendedor sobre os recursos naturais. Esta relação direciona- se principalmente ao setor madeireiro, tendo em vista que o mercado econômico desta atividade extrativista vincula-se diretamente ao desmatamento ilegal na Amazônia. O município de Paragominas – PA cresceu tendo seu modelo de economia baseado em atividades de extração as quais não possuíam manejo adequado de seus recursos ambientais que resultaram em um crescimento econômico associado à degradação do meio ambiente e a problemas sociais provenientes de tais atitudes. Desta forma, as consequências do desmatamento descontrolado foram de grande impacto na disponibilidade de matéria- prima e na economia do município, além de colocá-lo na lista negra do Ministério do Meio Ambiente (MMA) a qual apresentava os que mais desmatavam a Amazônia. A partir do ano de 2008, quando Paragominas recebeu a operação arco de fogo do MMA, a qual trouxe ações drásticas as atividades econômicas ilegais, fechando-as, apreendendo madeiras e multando os empreendimentos, buscou alternativas sustentáveis aliando a produção ao uso adequado de seus recursos ambientais com auxílio de parceiros, recursos de monitoramento e aplicação de técnicas de manejo ambientalmente corretas, alcançando o sucesso das ações com a saída da lista negra do desmatamento e o título de primeiro Município Verde do estado do Pará. Com base nisso, o presente trabalho irá apresentar os recursos que o município utilizou para desenvolver essa nova dinâmica econômica sustentável a partir da Operação Arco de Fogo e mostrar as relações econômicas com o desmatamento em Paragominas, através do modelo econométrico de correlação e regressão utilizando o software Bioestat. Tal estudo levará em consideração as variáveis explicativas, desmatamento; receita; consumo de energia elétrica residencial; e industrial no período de 2004 a 2014, afim de que se estabeleçam resultados que determinem e comprovem a influência das atividades econômicas, agora de maneira sustentável na economia do município.
