La importancia estratégica de las ferias del libro modernas ha expandido el contorno tradicional de los estudios del libro y la edición, fomentando nuevas perspectivas y análisis interdisciplinarios. En este sentido, el presente artículo aborda el carácter performativo de los libros, las exposiciones y los pabellones de España como país invitado de honor para analizar, con ello, qué imagen de país se transmite en estos eventos culturales. Un recorrido que abarca un periodo de tres décadas y donde se realiza un repaso a algunas de las características definitorias de la presencia internacional de España a nivel cultural.
The strategic importance of modern book fairs has expanded the traditional contours of book and publishing studies, fostering new perspectives and interdisciplinary analyses. In this sense, this article addresses the performative nature of the books, exhibitions and pavilions of Spain as Guest of Honour Country in order to analyze the image of the country that is transmitted in these cultural events. This article covers a period of three decades and reviews some of the defining characteristics of Spain’s international presence at the cultural level.
