El presente ensayo se plantea hacer un acto de reflexión sobre la importancia del estudio y de la práctica del juego de ajedrez, así como también, dar una visión más clara de la utilidad de dicho juego, al mismo tiempo que; destacar las considerables ventajas proporcionadas por su práctica consecuente y otros valores importantes reportados a nuestra propia vida por él, porque sin lugar a ninguna duda, quienes lo conocemos bien, análogamente podemos decir: “nuestra vida es un juego de ajedrez”. El autor de esta producción estima, similarmente a ciertas posiciones sobre el tablero de ajedrez donde hay que “hacer los máximos esfuerzos” para alcanzar el triunfo, también en la vida real se debe proceder de igual forma: es decir, “hacer los máximos esfuerzos” con el fin de alcanzar metas y objetivos que se tengan trazados dentro del ámbito profesional, deportivo, entre otros; y la “política”, en el buen sentido de la palabra, es un juego de ajedrez, si se pretende asociar con la realidad social. Finalmente, aunque no se haya mencionado mucho hasta ahora, dicho autor pretende establecer la estrecha relación existente entre la matemática y el ajedrez con la educación matemática.

This essay intends to reflect on the importance of studying and practicing the game of chess, as well as giving a clear vision of the usefulness of said game, at the same time; highlight the considerable advantages that its constant practice provides and other important values that it brings to our own lives, because without a doubt, those of us who know it well can also say: “our life is a game of chess”.The author of this production estimates, similar to certain positions on the chess board where you have to “make a sacrifice” to achieve victory, also in real life you must proceed in the same way: that is, “make the maximun efforts” in order to achieve goals and objectives that have been outlined withing the professional, sports field, among others; and “politics”, in the good sense of the word, is a chess game, if one tries to associate it with social reality. Finally, although not much has been mentioned so far, this author intends to establish the close relationship between mathematics and chess with mathematics education.
