The essay analyses the concept of performance used in legislative decrees No. 74 and 75 of 2017, which reform the employment relation in public administrations. The Author takes into consideration the concepts of productivity and efficiency used in the past reforms. Then he compares the 2009 reform concept of performance with that of the present day reform. The findings are those of an important evolution in the use of the concept of performance, which is nowadays widely utilized.
