In this work, the focus is on the relationship between image, culture, and identity, examining how images influence the construction of social imaginaries and how they can support or oppose power structures. This challenges the narrative of the idealized image, which often excludes marginalized and racialized subjects. It emphasizes the provocation to contest and interrupt the structures of representation that regulate bodies and subjectivities, reaffirming the need for a decolonial approach to culture and history. The text aims to review the complexity of representation by confronting the images that regulate bodies and subjectivities, while exploring the dissimilarity and cultural stigmas associated with them.

Neste texto, volta-se para a relação entre imagem, cultura e identidade, ao elaborar as formas como a imagem influencia a construção de imaginários sociais e como ela pode sustentar ou se opor às estruturas de poder. Desta forma, desafia a narrativa da imagem idealizada, que muitas vezes exclui os sujeitos subalternizados e racializados. Reforça a provocação de contestar e interromper as estruturas de representação que regulam os corpos e as subjetividades, reafirmando a necessidade de uma tomada decolonial da cultura e da história. O texto quer revisar a complexidade da representação, confrontando as imagens de regulação dos corpos e subjetividades, enquanto explora a dessemelhança e os estigmas culturais associados a elas.
