Resumen de Semblanza sobre los procesos de segregación y gentrificación

  En el siguiente texto se describen algunas consideraciones sobre el estudio de dos procesos de configuración urbana que si bien han estado latentes a lo largo de la historia de la ciudad, en Latinoamérica se vieron acentuados a partir de la reestructuración económica y la entrada de la ideología neoliberal, coadyuvado a la visión de la vivienda como mercancía, más allá de un bien social. En este tenor, se mencionan las características de la segregación social y la gentrificación como partes del proceso de configuración urbana y, por último, se citan brevemente algunos casos comúnmente estudiados a partir de estos fenómenos.

  T he following text describes some considerations in the study of two processes of urban configuration that, although they have been latent throughout the history of the city, in Latin America they were accentuated from the economic restructuring and the entry of the neoliberal ideology, aided by the vision of housing as a commodity beyond a social good. In this tenor, the very characteristics of social segregation and gentrification are mentioned as part of the process of urban configuration, and finally some cases commonly studied from these phenomena are briefly mentioned.
