A lo largo de este artículo de investigación realizamos un viaje retrospectivo en la vida del insigne canario D. Juan Bethencourt Alfonso, mostramos una documentación novedosa de la formación que obtuvo como estudiante de Secundaria en el que hoy conocemos como Instituto Cabrera Pinto. En esta entidad se encauzó el espíritu investigador e inquieto de este tinerfeño, que ha marcado el devenir y el conocimiento de gran parte de la cultura guanche. Extraeremos algunos acontecimientos y retos en esta trayectoria juvenil, tanto familiares como personales, a los que se enfrentó para formarse como un destacado individuo de la sociedad canaria de aquellos años.

Throughout this research article we take a retrospective journey in the life of the famous Canarian Mr. Juan Bethencourt Alfonso, we show innovative documentation of the training he obtained as a high school student at, what we know today as, the Cabrera Pinto Institute. Entity where the investigative and restless spirit of this Tenerife native was channeled, which has marked the future and knowledge of a large part of the Guanche culture. We will extract some events and challenges in this youthful career, both family and personal, which he faced to become an outstanding individual in the Canary Islands society of those years.
