Resumen de Abandono Escolar y Nivel Académico al Ingreso, un estudio Correlacional en Ingeniería

  El programa educativo de Ingeniería en Computación, del Centro Universitario UAEM Valle de Teotihuacán de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, tiene una elevada tasa de abandono escolar, que de acuerdo a datos de la Agenda Estadística 2023 de la propia universidad fue del 18.5% tan solo para ese año, por otra parte el índice de reprobación fue del 13.5%, considerablemente más bajo que el de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la misma universidad donde se reportó 33%. Se trata de un estudio observacional retrospectivo con alcance correlacional y diseño no experimental para la generación 2022 conformada por 43 aspirantes de los cuales fueron aceptados 32. Se investigó la relación entre el abandono escolar considerando cifras hasta abril 2024 para dicha generación, respecto al nivel académico de dichos alumnos al momento de su ingreso en 2022 considerando como variables el promedio del nivel medio superior y los resultados del examen de ingreso a la universidad. Se realizaron pruebas de hipótesis utilizando la prueba estadística paramétrica de correlación de Pearson y la prueba estadística no paramétrica predictiva de correlación logística, esto con apoyo del software de análisis estadístico STATA 11, sin encontrar asociación estadísticamente significativa entre las variables.

  The Computer Engineering educational program, at Centro Universitario UAEM Valle de Teotihuacán de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México has a high scholar dropout rate, which according to the data from the 2023 Statistical Agenda of the university, was 18.5% in only one year, on the other hand, the failure rate was 13.5%, it was considerably lower than of the Faculty of Engineering of the same university, where 33% was reported. This is a retrospective observational study with correlational reach and non-experimental design for the 2022 generation made up of 43 applicants, which 32 were accepted. The relationship between school dropouts was investigated considering averages until April 2024 acording to that generation, also the academic level from these students at the time of their admission in 2022, there were considerated as variables the obtained score of high school and the results of the university acceptance exam. Hypothesis tests were carried out using the Pearson parametric statistical evaluation test and the non-parametric predictive logistic evaluation statistical test, with the support of the STATA 11 statistical analysis software, without finding a statistically significant association between the variables.
