El baloncesto, uno de los deportes más populares en el mundo, puede convertirse en una potente herramienta educativa. A través de los modelos pedagógicos Modelo Comprensivo de Iniciación Deportiva y Modelo de Educación Deportiva se van a trabajar los valores del deporte, actitudes de esfuerzo, el sentido crítico, la iniciativa personal y el control de la excesiva competitividad, generando un ambiente de disfrute en el aula que favorezca el aprendizaje y trabajo en equipo.

Basketball, one of the most popular sports in the world, can become a powerful teaching tool. The present experience was carried out with four groups of the third cycle of Primary Education that, during fourteen sessions and through the hybridization of the pedagogical models Teach-ing Games for Understanding and Sports Education, were introduced to the basic technical-tactical aspects of 3x3 basketball. Throughout the article, the entire Didactic Unit is presented: from a list of the sessions with their activities to the assessment process, including the use of printed resources that will serve as support (posters) or for the work on tactical concepts. (tac-tical situation sheets). The conclusions drawn after putting the proposal into practice were very positive, having favored equal participation and seeingan improvement in the control of exces-sive competitiveness and, therefore, a reduction in the conflicts that were generated. In addition, a transfer of the technical-tactical skills worked on during the sessions was observed, which were incorporated to the game during playground time.
