Resumen de Aproximaciones a la biblioclastia en México: siglos XX-XXI

El objetivo del artículo es identificar algunas de las manifestaciones biblioclastas ocurridas en México durante el siglo veinte, a partir de una consideración de la biblioclastia como toda práctica que represente una afectación tanto al libro como a cualquier otro bien documental. La metodología empleada fue la investigación bibliográfica-hemerográfica, teniendo como principales resultados que en México, durante el periodo estudiado, hubo una serie de prácticas biblioclastas de diversa índole, como la destrucción física, el robo, la mutilación, el olvido y la desvalorización, que, en su conjunto, representó una afectación no sólo a los libros y a los documentos, sino al ecosistema que los rodea. En este sentido, se pudo determinar que el principal tipo de biblioclastia ocurrido en México durante el siglo veinte fue la biblioclastia por incuria, originada por la negligencia, así como la consideración de la biblioclastia más allá de la mera destrucción física del libro por motivos políticos, ideológicos o religiosos.

The objective of this article is to identify some of the biblioclastic manifestations that occurred in Mexico during the twentieth century, starting from a consideration of biblioclastics as any practice that represents an affectation both to the book and to any documentary property. The methodology used was the bibliographichemerographic research, having as main results that in Mexico during the period of study there was a series of biblioclastic practices of various kinds, such as physical destruction, theft, mutilation, forgetfulness and devaluation, which together represented an affectation not only to the book and documents, but to the ecosystem that surrounds them. In this sense, it was possible to determine that the main type of biblioclastia occurred in Mexico during the twentieth century was biblioclastia due to negligence, as well as the consideration of biblioclastia beyond the mere physical destruction of the book for political, ideological and religious reasons.
