Resumen de La Figura del zorro en la obra Arguedas: una vuelta al mito

El propósito de este trabajo es llegar a una conclusión en cuanto a por qué José María Arguedas escoge como personaje principal para guiar su novela El zorro de arriba y el zorro de abajo a este animal mitológico tan peculiar. Analizaremos para ello cuándo aparecen en la narración, qué es lo que hacen y qué función cumplen. Mi hipótesis es que son escogidos porque son los únicos capaces de comprender el trasfondo de las distintas situaciones que se dan en Chimbote, la ciudad pesquera peruana, y develarlo a los lectores.

The purpose of this work is to inquire on why José María Arguedas choose as main character to lead his novel El zorro de arriba y el zorro de abajo this mythological and so peculiar animal. We will analyze when it appears in the narrative, what it does and what function it carries out, to consider how Argueda’s way of narrate breaks the westernized form of the novel as a type. My hypothesis is that it was chosen because it is the only one capable of understand the undertone of the different situations that occur in Chimbote, the Peruvian fishery city, and reveal that to the readers from an original perspective, the Andean worldview.
