  • An oil sketch in the Musée des Beaux-Arts , Rouen, is here identified as James Thornhill's modello for the ceiling painting of the staircase hall at Addiscombe House, near Croydon, begun c.1702 and demolished in the 1860s. It depicts the classical gods as an allegory of the days of the week
