  Los mexicanos tenemos una modalidad del lenguaje que involucra el sexo hablado: el albur, cuya incorporación al lenguaje popular mexicano data desde tiempos prehispánicos. Su postergación y preservación se ha dado como la evolución misma del lenguaje: a través del tiempo y de generación en generación.

  Los objetivos de la investigación realizada fueron conocer si el albur es un elemento degradante del español mexicano; si las personas que los dicen son personas con un bagaje cultural bajo y, sobre todo, si es cierto que el albur es exclusivo de sectores sociales marginados.

  A través de un grupo de discusión, la asistencia a un diplomado en albures finos y la aplicación de tres distintos tipos de análisis discursivo, se encontró que las personas que ejecutan albures tienden a enriquecer su vocabulario y, contrario a lo que la mayoría de la gente piensa, no es un elemento que denigre el español ni a la persona que los ejecuta; en cambio, enaltece la actividad cerebral a pesar de ser visto aún como un tabú, al tiempo que amplía el bagaje lingüístico de quien los habla.

  We as mexicans have a language mannerism , that involves sex speech: ˂albur˃, which its incorporation to the popular Mexican language dates from prehispanic eras. Its deferral and preservation has become as the evolution of the language itself, through time, from generation to generation.

  The objectives of this research focused on knowing if the albur is a degrading element of the Mexican Spanish; if people who say them, are people with a low cultural baggage and, above all, if its true that the albur is exclusive from the marginate social sectors.

  Through a discussion group, the attendance to a course in fancy albur and the application of thra1ee different types of discourse analysis, it was found that people who use the albur tend to enrich their vocabulary and, against to what most of the people think, it is not an element that denigrates Spanish nor the person who uses it; instead, it elevates the brain activity even though it is seen as a taboo, while expanding the linguistic baggage of those who use them.
