Resumen de Geografía del voto en las elecciones presidenciales de 2012: el caso del estado de Hidalgo

Este artículo de investigación busca comprender la distribución espacial de la votación en las elecciones presidenciales de 2012. Para ello, se analizan los resultados electorales en las secciones del estado de Hidalgo. Sobre lo que preguntamos: ¿cómo se distribuye el voto en las secciones?, y ¿existe relación entre la votación de los partidos, el abstencionismo y la votación nula? El estudio estadístico utiliza como unidad de análisis a la sección electoral (N: 1705). Los datos para la investigación provienen de los cómputos distritales por casilla de las elecciones presidenciales de 2012 (IFE, 2012). Los hallazgos de esta investigación se insertan, por un lado, en los estudios del comportamiento electoral; y, por otro lado, en el debate teórico y metodológico, que revaloriza el papel del espacio geográfico seccional en el análisis electoral.

This research seeks to understand the spatial distribution of the vote in the Presidential Elections of 2012. The electoral results are analyzed in the different sections of the State of Hidalgo. We ask: ourselves how is the vote distributed in those sections? And, is there a relationship between the voting of the Parties, the restraining from voting and the null vote? The statistical study uses the electoral section as an analysis unit (N: 1705). The data for the investigation comes from the district´s counting of votes in the 2012 Presidential Elections. The findings of this investigation are inserted, on the one hand, in the studies of electoral behavior; and, on the other hand, in the theoretical and methodological debate that revalues the role of the geographical sectional space in the electoral analysis.
