    • Hypercalcemia is uncommon in pregnancy but it can be associated with adverse maternal and fetal outcomes. Diagnosis may be a challenge as serum calcium is not routinely measured during pregnancy and symptoms overlap with those associated with pregnancy itself. PHPT is the most common etiology of hypercalcemia in pregnancy, although virtually every other cause of hypercalcemia has been described.
