  The purpose of this article is a study of the fair agroecologica in the Laranjeiras do Sul-Paraná, from the perspective of institutional theory of economist Douglass Cecil North. For this author formal institutions are the laws, rules, agreements, circulars and other formally instituted; informal are related to the customs, traditions, habits and beliefs and the application or how the two evolve over time. The fair agroecologica in Laranjeiras do Sul is mediated by a number of institutions, and prevail from the perspective of merchants informal despite being influenced by formal laws and specific regulations identified that ideology, habits and health represent the wishes of the majority of fairground as well as being an important social reproduction tool.

  O objetivo desse artigo é um estudo sobre a feira agroecológica em Laranjeiras do Sul- Paraná, sob a ótica da teoria institucional do economista Douglass Cecil North. Para esse autor as instituições formais são as leis, normas, convênios, circulares entre outras formalmente instituídas; as informais têm relação aos costumes, tradição, hábitos e crenças e a aplicação ou a forma como as duas evoluem ao longo do tempo. A feira agroecológica em Laranjeiras do Sul é mediada por uma série de instituições, sendo que prevalecem sob a ótica dos feirantes as informais apesar de ser influenciada por leis e regramentos formais identificou-se que a ideologia, hábito e saúde representam os anseios da maioria dos feirantes, além de ser uma importante ferramenta de reprodução social.
