Resumen de Art is effective means of employment after release: a literature review of effectiveness art and entrepreneurship programs in employability and reduce recidivism after prison

Mitra Dahesh

  • This chapter examines the effectiveness of art and entrepreneurship programs in enhancing employability and reducing recidivism among individuals recently released from prison. The primary objective is to assess the potential of such programs as viable pathways for successful reintegration into society on a global scale, providing sustainable employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals. The analysis focuses on evaluating whether participation in art and entrepreneurship initiatives can foster personal development, improve social and economic prospects, and ultimately contribute to a reduction in re-offending rates. To achieve this, the chapter employs a narrative review of the literature, drawing on extensive searches of electronic databases and specialist websites to identify and synthesize relevant academic studies. Through this approach, the chapter aims to offer a nuanced understanding of the benefits and challenges associated with these programs, as well as the broader implications for criminal justice policy and practice.
