    Desde hace varios años recibimos, en nuestro servicio público de psiquiatría infantojuvenil, gran cantidad de pacientes con unas particularidades psicosociales nuevas para nosotros. Se trata de niños y adolescentes que llegan tras una emigración varios años antes, de sus madres (padres). Sus madres se vinieron a trabajar para mejorar sus condiciones de vida, para ofrecerles una vida mejor. Los hijos se quedaron en el país de origen, en la familia extensa. Cuando se reencuentran con sus madres presentan grandes dificultades de funcionamiento y adaptación con una sintomatología que hace que sean derivados a los servicios de psiquiatría infantojuvenil.

    For several years now, in our public child and adolescent psychiatry service, we have received a large number of patients with psychosocial peculiarities that are new to us. These are children and adolescents who arrive after emigrating several years earlier, from their mothers (fathers). Their mothers came to work to improve their living conditions, to offer them a better life. The children stayed in the country of origin, in the extended family. When they are reunited with their mothers, they present great difficulties in functioning and adaptation with symptoms that cause them to be referred to child and adolescent psychiatry services.
