Resumen de El método científico: su concepto, su realidad y algunos problemas de su teoría

Juan Ramón Álvarez Bautista

  • Methodology of science, a theoretical domain traversed both by philosophical and scientific endeavours, must be thought of as a view wherein human operations are subordinated to norms within scientific practice. Operations belong to three different classes: they are symbolic, technical and social. Scientific method thus understood works always within the space deterrnined by the levels of resolution of the different scientific theories. This theoretical set-up enables the author to deal with classical topics of the theory of scientific method: for instance, the problems bearing relation to syntax and structuralism, testability and technology, and norms and meta-methodology.
