    A vita of Herekleides, deriving from Cyprus and datable between the fifth and the seventh centuries, describes various liturgical events. These descriptions seem to presuppose a stage of liturgical development comparable to that known at Antioch in the middle of the fourth century. This vita is thus a valuable, albeit neglected, source for the history of the Antiochene liturgy.
