El texto presenta parte de una investigación bibliográfica sobre los orígenes del periodismo con énfasis en Europa y América. El artículo incluye datos sobre la creación de la imprenta, así como las prime- ras de estas imprentas en el continente descubierto por Colón. De la misma manera, se describen los principales hitos en la temprana historia de la prensa.

The following text present part of a bibliographic research about the beginning of the journalism, especially in America and in Europe. This paper include data about the creation of the printing press and the first of those in the new continent. In the same vein, the paper describes the main milestones of the early history of the journalism.
