Resumen de Relación entre circunferencia de cuello y perfil lipídico en adultos:un análisis prospectivo de la Encuesta Nacional de Salud 2009-2010de Chile

  Objetivo:Investigar la relación entre circunferencia de cuello (CC) y perfil lipídico en adultosde la población chilena. Métodos:Se utilizóun diseño prospectivo correlacional entre las variables de CCy perfil lipídico de los participantes de la Encuesta Nacional de Salud (ENS) 2009-2010 de Chile, correspondientes a 1.852 adultos de entre 25 y 44 años. Resultados:el análisis reportó una correlación positiva entre CCy niveles de triglicéridos(0,36), colesterol total (0,20) y colesterol LDL (0,18), así como una correlación negativa respecto del colesterol HDL(-0,36). Conclusión:se concluye que la CCse relaciona estadísticamente con los parámetros de perfil lipídico de adultos de la población de Chile y se sugiere incorporar esta medición antropométrica de manera complementaria a la evaluación nutricional.

  Objective:Investigate the relationship between neck circumference (NC) and lipid profile in adultsof the Chilean population. Methods:A prospective correlational design was used between the variables of NCand lipid profile of the participants of the National Health Survey (NHS) 2009-2010 of Chile, corresponding to 1,852 adults between 25 and 44 years old. Results:the analysis reported a positive correlation between NC and levels of triglycerides(0,36), total cholesterol(0,20)and LDL cholesterol(0,18), as well as a negative correlation with respect to HDL cholesterol(-0,36). Conclusion:it is concluded that NCis statistically related to the lipid profile parameters of adults ofthe population of Chile and it is suggested to incorporate this anthropometric measurement in a complementary manner to the nutritional evaluation
