  • Resumen
    • This article aims to demonstrate the accuracy and robustness of the strain based approach in analyzing pressurized FGM cylinders with arbitrarily varying material properties. A sector in-plane finite element in the polar coordinate system based on this approach is employed. The obtained results are compared with the analytical solutions available in the literature, and a good accuracy was shown. In addition, this element can easily simulate the behavior of FGM without the need for dividing the cylinder into homogeneous layers. This investigation would be helpful in the design and analysis of hollow cylinders made of functionally graded materials.
