Resumen de Colhuas y mexicas: dos historias de un mismo pasado

En este artículo se analizan las dos versiones que existen en las fuentes sobre el periodo que va de la derrota y expulsión de los mexicas de Chapultepec a la llegada de Acamapichtli a Mexico-Tenochtitlan. La primera versión, la más conocida, es la que se desprende de la Crónica X, mientras que la segunda tiene como columna vertebral las fuentes vinculadas con el Códice Colhuacan y los anales mexicas, pero también aparece en un significativo grupo de documentos, tanto manuscritos como pictográficos, relacionados con las tradiciones historiográficas de distintos pueblos del valle de Anahuac. A partir de este análisis es posible sostener que la versión que se desprende de la Crónica X pudo haber sido la historia reformada en tiempos de Itzcoatl y que, a diferencia de lo comunmente aceptado, en Mexico-Tenochtitlan convivieron, principalmente, dos grupos bien diferenciados, la nobleza colhua y el pueblo mexica.

This paper analyzes the two existing versions in the sources on the period that extends from the Mexica defeat and the expulsion from Chapultepec, to the arrival of Acamapichtli in Mexico-Tenochtitlan. The first of them, and best known, is the one that emerges from Chronicle X, while the second has its backbone in the sources linked to the Codex Colhuacan and the Mexica annals, but it also appears in a significant group of documents, both manuscripts and pictographs, related to the historiographic traditions of different peoples of the Anahuac valley. From this analysis it is possible to conclude that the version that emerges from Chronicle X could have been the reformed history in the times of Itzcoatl and that, contrary to what is commonly accepted, in Mexico-Tenochtitlan two well-differentiated groups lived together, the Colhua nobility and the Mexica people.
