  • Resumen
    • The region of Torres Yedras (Portugal) is rich in funerary monuments dated from the end of theNeolithic and Chalcolithic. Cova da Moura is a natural cave that was used as a collective burial place.in the Chalcolithic. The mínimum number of individuals recovered is 90.This paper describes the dental anthropology of the lower teeth (n= 262), including tooth crowndimension, some morphological traits of the molars teeth (scored following the Arizona StateUniversity dental Anthropology system, Turner et al., 1991) and the prevalence of dental diseases(namely abscesses, antemortem tooth loss, calculus, caries and hypoplasia). The results are comparedwith other Portuguese skeletal series of similar chronological and cultural context, improving ourunderstanding of the biological adaptations and genetic affinities of this population.
