  Este artículo tiene por objetivo indagar, de forma crítica, los beneficios medioambientales y espaciales, que pueden generar los contenedores marítimos reciclados en los edificios del centro histórico. También, el aporte a soluciones integrales y sin impacto, de toda índole, en el centro histórico de Lima y otros del país.Durante este análisis, observamos casos de éxito donde edificaciones históricas optaron por soluciones espaciales similares a contenedores marítimos, donde contribuyeron con un aporte significativo y, sobre todo, con una solución eficiente para los espacios en que fueron proyectados, dando un claro ejemplo de que este tipo de soluciones se pueden aplicar en nuestro centro histórico como alternativa viable y que, a su vez, se está logrando una solución arquitectónica que no atenta con el recinto a intervenir. Asimismo, de una manera, contribuyendo con el medio ambiente reciclando contenedores en desuso, puesto que el contenedor, como materia prima versátil, es de fácil adaptación y modificación si las necesidades espaciales cambian en el transcurso del tiempo.También reflexionamos sobre el problema que atravesamos en la actualidad con la falta de proyectos de esta índole, en donde la cargotectura podría ser una alternativa para el replanteo de la forma de intervenir en los edificios históricos.

  The purpose of this essay is to critically examine the advantages that repurposed shipping containers can have for the environment and for the built environment when used in historic center buildings. Also, the contribution to comprehensive solutions and without impact, of all kinds, in the historic center of Lima and other parts of the country.During this analysis, we will observe success stories where historic buildings opted for spatial solutions like maritime containers, where they contributed a significant contribution and, above all, an efficient solution for the spaces in which they were projected. Giving a clear example that this type of solutions can be applied in our historic center as a viable alternative and that, in turn, an architectural solution is being achieved that does not affect the area to be intervened. Also, in a way, contributing to the environment by recycling disused containers. Since the container, as a versatile raw material, is easy to adapt and modify if spatial needs change over time.We will also discuss the current issue of a shortage of initiatives of this sort, and how loading could be an alternative for contemplating how to intervene in ancient buildings
