    El Rotavirus es un virus perteneciente a la familia Reoviridae, que produce infección a nivel del aparato digestivo, siendo sus síntomas típicos de una gastroenteritis. Es la causa principal de esta patología en la etapa pediátrica, especialmente en menores de 5 años. Cabe destacar que podemos diferenciar distintos tipos de genotipos según las proteínas de la envuelta externa del virus.

    Esta enfermedad constituye una importante preocupación para las personas cercanas a los pacientes, especialmente a los padres primerizos de los bebés, especialmente a los propios profesionales del ámbito sanitario por la vulnerabilidad que supone estos pacientes en esta etapa del ser humano.

    Rotavirus is a virus belonging to the Reoviridae family, which causes infection in the digestive system, its symptoms being typical of gastroenteritis. It is the main cause of this pathology in the pediatric stage, especially in children under 5 years of age. It should be noted that we can differentiate different types of genotypes according to the proteins of the virus’s external envelope.

    This disease constitutes a major concern for people close to the patients, especially the first-time parents of the babies, especially the health professionals themselves due to the vulnerability that these patients represent at this stage of the human being.
