    Este artículo analiza el proceso asociacionista de los árabes en Barranquilla a partir de la creación del Club Alhambra, entidad social con la que se buscó fortalecer las relaciones sociales de las familias de origen árabe en la ciudad, y posteriormente su integración con la cultura barranquillera. Primeramente, se realiza una descripción del proceso de fundación y organización del Club; y por último, se estudian los mecanismos de integración sociocultural de sus miembros, tomando incluso aspecto propios de la cultura de la sociedad receptora.

    This article analyzes the process of association of the Arabs in Barranquilla, starting with the creation of Club Alhambra, a social club created to strengthen the social relations offamilies of Arab origin in the city and their subsequent integration into the culture of Barranquilla. In the first place, a description of the process of foundation and organization of the club is made, to later go into detail with the mechanisms of socio-cultural integration of the club members, taking even aspect of the culture of the receiving society.
