Evaluación de las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala del Desorden Generalizado de Ansiedad (GAD-7) en el Centro Universitario de Petén de la Universidad de San de Guatemala

    Se realizó un estudio un estudio con el objetivo de evaluar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala del Desorden Generalizadode Ansiedad (GAD-7) en estudiantes y profesores del Centro Universitario de Petén, de la Universidad de SanCarlos de Guatemala y para determinar los niveles de ansiedad en esta población. El estudio se realizó con una muestra de 127 estudiantes y 16 profesores a los que se les aplicó el instrumento. La confiabilidad de la escala medida con el Alfa de Cronbach fue de .899. Se realizó un análisis confirmatorio utilizando un sistema de ecuaciones estructurales, el cual mostró que todos los ítems funcionan adecuadamente. Los indicadores de ajuste (RMSEA =.059, NFI = .961 y CFI = .986) indican la capacidad confirmatoria del constructo medido. Confirmada la validez de la escala para el grupo cultural objetivo, se procedió a analizar su aplicación a los sujetos en la muestra. El estudio encontró que el nivel de ansiedad general en los miembros del CUDEP en la muestra en promedio fue de 7.3 con una desviación estándar de 4.7. El primer cuartil fue de 3 y el tercer cuartil de 20. Utilizando un baremo para la escala, se encontró que 32.4% de la muestra no presentan signos de ansiedad, el 37.3% manifiestan de manera leve la ansiedad, hay un 22% que evidencian ansiedad moderada y 7.7% tienen ansiedad severa. El estudio sugiere a la comunidad universitaria una intervención apropiada para el tratamiento de los niveles de ansiedad detectados.

    A study was developed to verify the consistency of the psychometric properties of the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) in students and teachers of the Petén University Center, of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala and to determine the anxiety levels in its population. The study was carried out using a sample of 127 students and 16 teachers was used to whom the instrument was applied. The reliability of the scale measured with Cronbach’s Alpha was .899. A confirmatory analysis was applied using a System ofStructural Equations, it was determined that all items function appropriately and the adjustment indicators indicate the confirmatory capacity of the measured construct, RMSEA = .059, NFI = .961, y CFI = .986.Once the validity of the scale was confirmed for the target cultural group, its application to the subjects in the sample was analyzed. The study found that the level of general anxiety in the CUDEP members in the sample on average was 7.3 with a standard deviation of 4.7. The first quartile was 3 and the third quartile was 20. The data indicate that 32.4% of the sample do not present signs of anxiety, 37.3% show mild anxiety, there are 22% who show moderate anxiety and 7.7% have severeanxiety. The study suggests to the university community an appropriate intervention for the treatment of the anxiety levels detected.
