Resumen de Viagem ao interior da Guiana Francesa na perspectiva de Adam de Bauve e P. Ferré

  The article presents the considerations made from the reading of the chapter “Voyage dans l’intérieur de la Guyane” (Journey through the interior of Guyana) contained in the Bulletin de la Société de Géographie (Bulletin of the Society in Geography) by Adam de Bauve and P. Ferré, published in 1884. The text used for the writing of this article was consulted in the Gallica digital collection of the National Library of France (NBF). The archive belongs to the second series, in the first volume, of publications made by French travelers on the Amazon and is preceded by an extensive composition of twenty volumes, published over a period of twelve years (from 1821 to 1833). They are travel reports and notes on the fauna and flora of the region, as well as considerations about indigenous peoples, namely the Wajãpi and the Kusari. To analyze the chapter that was translated, especially what refers to the context in which the French explorers were inserted, we compared the studies of Coudreau (1887), and to understand the ethnicities mentioned, we researched Gallois (1986).

  O artigo apresenta as considerações feitas a partir da leitura do capítulo “Viagem ao interior da Guiana” (Voyage dans l’intérieur de la Guyane) contido no Boletim da Sociedade de Geografia (Bulletin de la Société en Géographie), de Adam de Bauve e P. Ferré, publicado em 1884. O texto utilizado para a escrita deste artigo foi consultado no acervo digital Gallica da Biblioteca Nacional da França (BNF). O arquivo pertence a segunda série, no primeiro tomo, de publicações feitas pelos viajantes franceses sobre a Amazônia e é precedido por uma extensa composição de vinte volumes, publicadas em um período de doze anos (de 1821 à 1833). São relatos de viagens e anotações sobre a fauna e flora da região, além de considerações sobre povos indígenas, quais sejam, os Wajãpi e Kusari. Para analisar o capítulo que foi traduzido, sobretudo o que se refere ao contexto no qual os exploradores franceses estavam inseridos, fizemos comparativo com os estudos de Coudreau (1887) e para compreender as etnias mencionadas, pesquisamos Gallois (1986).
