    Introducción:  Las  tecnologías  de  la información se han convertido en un reto para  la  educación  médica.  Objetivo: Describir el uso de las tecnologías de la información  por  los  estudiantes  de medicina  en  la  universidad  de  ciencias médicas  de  Guantánamo.  Método:  Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal. El  universo  lo  constituyeron  384 estudiantes de segundo año de la carrera de  medicina,  la  muestra  fue  de  94 mediante un muestreo aleatorio simple. Se definieron variables como: sexo, redes sociales  que  utiliza¸  red  social  más frecuente,  uso  que  le  da  a  las  redes sociales,  dispositivo  con  el  que  accede, Uso del aula virtual. Para la recolección de la información se diseñó y validó un cuestionario  mediante  criterio  de expertos. Los resultados se presentaron en  tablas  mediante  números  y porcientos.  Se  respetaron  los  principios éticos.  Resultados:  El  91,5  %  usa Whatsapp, el 71, 3 % de las hembras y el 20,2 % de los varones, el 72,3 % de ellas y el  22.3  %  de  ellos  emplean  las  redes sociales para el intercambio de mensajes, con fines académicos solo el 51.1 % y el 6.3% respectivamente. WhatsApp fue la red  social  utilizada  con  más  frecuencia (86), el 100 % utiliza el teléfono móvil. El aula  virtual  la  usan  53(56  %),  32  no  lo hacen porque desconocen cómo entrar. Conclusiones: Whatsapp es la red social más  utilizada  para  el  intercambio  de mensajes  y  muy  poco  con  fines académicos,  la  mayoría  emplea  el teléfono móvil y menos de la mitad usan el aula virtual.

    Introduction: the practice of phytotherapy is almost as old as man. The extract from the bark of the mango tree has traditionally been used in natural medicine in many countries for the treatment of various conditions. In Cuba it is produced industrially in the form of syrup, tablets and creams under the trademark Vimang. Objective: to describe the behavior of the use of Vimang in the population of office 22, Pedro Díaz Coello Polyclinic, from January to March 2020. Method: descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study was carried out in office 22 of the Pedro Díaz Coello Polyclinic, Holguín municipality, from January to March 2020, to obtain information on the use of Vimang in this population. The universe consisted of 883 patients from whom 30 patients who used the Vimang were randomly taken as a sample. The variables used were: Age, Sex, Personal pathological history, Educational level, Source of information, Most used presentation, Condition for which it was most used and Results. Results: Vimang was used in a greater proportion by women (83.3%). The most used pharmaceutical formulation was the syrup to treat colds (63.3%), itseffects were positive in the majority of the patients who used it. The main source of knowledge of this phytopharmaceutical was the popular comment (40%). Conclusions: The investigation showed that there is insufficient knowledge about Vimang and little disclosure by the family doctor's office of the utilities and various uses of this phytopharmaceutical.
