Desde los años noventa del siglo pasado las investigaciones sobre la catedral de Sevilla vienen retrasando su inicio constructivo en más de treinta años. Esta conclusión afecta a la interpretación de toda la arquitectura levantada en su arzobispado entre 1400 y 1430. En este artículo se estudia la arquitectura pétrea y de albañilería realizada entre estas fechas tanto en la capital hispalense como en otras ciudades dependientes administrativamente de ella, con el propósito de evaluar el grado de primacía de Sevilla sobre su entorno.

Since the nineties of the last century, the research on the cathedral of Seville has been delaying its construction by more than thirty years. This conclusion affects the interpretation of all the architecture erected in its archbishopric between 1400 and 1430. This article studies the stone and masonry architecture built between these dates both in the capital of Seville and in other cities administratively dependent on it, with the purpose of evaluating the primacy of Seville over its surroundings.
